About Nirmay Pharma
Building a trusted pharmaceutical manufacturer from the North-East region of India.
Our Story
Nirmay Pharma Pvt. Ltd. was founded in 2003 by Dr. Pranab Kumar Das, a postgraduate in pharmaceutical sciences with over two decades of prior industry experience, with the vision of establishing a quality-first generic formulations manufacturer based out of the North-East region of India. Our first production unit was commissioned at Amingaon, Guwahati in 2005, in the Brahmaputra Industrial Park — one of the earliest formulation units in the region to pursue and receive WHO-GMP certification.
In 2011 we commissioned a second unit on an adjacent plot within the same industrial estate, dedicated to liquid oral formulations and non-sterile semi-solid preparations. Both units sit on a single campus, sharing utilities, warehousing, and a common QA/QC laboratory. We remain privately held and family-managed, reinvesting a majority of profits back into capacity, quality systems, and workforce training.
Our customer base today includes institutional buyers within the Indian public health system, a growing private distribution network spanning 18 states, and export partners in Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Around 22% of our annual output is exported; the remainder is sold through our domestic distribution partners.

Community & Environment
Under the direction of our board, we support healthcare access and education initiatives in the Kamrup and Darrang districts of Assam, with a particular focus on rural primary healthcare and nutrition. Through our partnership with local NGOs and the District Health Authority, we contribute to annual medical camps, sponsor nursing scholarships for students from the region, and make periodic product donations for state-level relief work.
On the environmental side, the Amingaon campus operates a common effluent treatment plant sized for both units, and Unit 1 has installed a 200 kWp rooftop solar array which meets approximately 28% of the campus daytime electrical demand.
